Lights, Camera, Action: ABCD Films Segment for Empowered Program Hosted by Meg Ryan

Back on March 17, ABCD was in Florida filming a segment for Empowered Program Hosted by Meg Ryan that will air on public television later this year. It will highlight the life-changing role that one-to-one, emotional support can play for anyone impacted by breast cancer and its research-backed benefits that complement medical care.

Executive Director Ellen Friebert Schupper, Mentor Jaclyn Dillon, and Mentor Megan Brown – who also provides marketing & communications support for ABCD and is a former Participant – were interviewed for the segment.

Reflecting on participating in the day-long shoot, Jaclyn shared: “Being filmed on the Empowered by Meg Ryan segment alongside Ellen and Megan was an incredible experience. As an ABCD Mentor, my role is to provide support, encouragement, and guidance to others facing similar challenges. My personal story was featured, allowing me to share the journey I’ve been through, and it was empowering to know that my experiences could help someone else. The entire day felt like something out of a movie — especially with the hair and makeup session that made me feel like a true movie star. It was such a rewarding and emotional experience to be part of a program that not only highlights the strength of those facing breast cancer but also fosters a sense of community and solidarity. Being able to mentor for ABCD and share my story in such a powerful way truly made the experience unforgettable.”
