DIVERSE VOICES READY TO SHARE MEANINGFUL STORIES ABOUT THE BREAST CANCER EXPERIENCE

Patients and survivors, people living with metastatic disease, previvors, care partners, and experts are available for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2025.

Milwaukee, WI (August 6, 2025)ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis has a wide range of individuals available for media interviews during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and year-round. As an organization that provides free, personalized emotional support to anyone impacted by breast cancer by engaging a diverse community of nearly 300 volunteers around the United States who all have had a personal experience with breast cancer, ABCD is a trusted source for powerful personal stories, firsthand insights, and expert perspectives on the breast cancer experience.

When someone comes to ABCD for emotional support, they are matched with a volunteer Mentor who has completed specialized training and has a similar lived experience, taking into consideration diagnosis, treatment, age, and lifestyle. ABCD Mentors are breast cancer survivors, people living with metastatic disease, people at high risk of developing breast cancer, or friends or family members of someone with breast cancer.

Having this network of people with compelling, unique breast cancer stories who are comfortable sharing them publicly means ABCD can connect journalists to sources who will complement their article. Whether writing for Breast Cancer Awareness Month or another breast cancer-related topic, available interviewees include:

  • Survivors of various types of breast cancer (DCIS, Triple Negative, Triple Positive, Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, etc.)
  • People living with Stage IV/metastatic breast cancer
  • Individuals diagnosed while pregnant and parenting through cancer
  • Men who have experienced breast cancer
  • Previvors with a genetic predisposition to the disease
  • People navigating survivorship and life after treatment
  • Caregivers and partners who supported loved ones through diagnosis and recovery
  • Experts in oncology, research, cancer rehabilitation, and the benefits of emotional support
  • Individuals who can speak to the emotional and physical side effects of treatment, including hair loss, infertility, fatigue, and identity shifts
  • Patients in active treatment

If a particular background is needed, ABCD can customize a search for interviewees based on specific location, race, religion, age, and other demographics.
