About This Webinar

Caregiving is an act of love, but it can also bring exhaustion, uncertainty, anticipatory grief, changing family roles, and the pressure to stay strong for everyone else.

Join ABCD for a conversation about caring for someone with cancer while also caring for yourself. This LEAP webinar brings together Dr. Lisa Petgrave-Nelson, DSW, LMSW, OSW-C, an oncology social worker with more than two decades of experience, and Megan-Claire Chase, Director of Health Impact and Strategic Partnerships at SHARE Cancer Support and a 10-year breast cancer survivor and advocate who is currently caring for a parent with cancer. Together, they’ll share professional guidance and honest, lived experience to help caregivers navigate the emotional and practical realities of their role.

What You’ll Learn

During this webinar, Dr. Petgrave-Nelson and Megan-Claire will explore:

  • Ways to recognize and cope with caregiver stress, anticipatory grief, changing family dynamics, and burnout
  • Strategies for navigating difficult conversations, setting healthy boundaries, and accepting help without guilt
  • Why prioritizing your own health and emotional well-being is essential while caring for someone else
  • How connection and shared experiences can reduce isolation and remind caregivers that they deserve support, too
